Yury Liliana Moscoso López

Yury Liliana Moscoso López was born on 13 May 1983 in the municipality of Rovira. She spent her childhood with her three brothers in La Vereda and also attended elementary and secondary school there. She completed high school at the age of 16 and worked as a teacher for three years. She then started studying at the University of Tolima. Despite several part-time jobs, her income was insufficient to continue her university course.
She moved to Bogota to work there as a watchwoman.
In 2009 she was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease (rheumatoid arthritis). Initially she was able to continue working, but in 2011 Yury lost her job and moved to live with her sister in Ibagué. The disease progressed further. Since 2016 she has had stiffness in her upper limbs.
As Ms Moscoso had always been interested in art, she started drawing and painting with her mouth. She learned about the VDMFK from friends.
