Estanislau André Luis

Born on 14 October 1963 in Rio de Janeiro. When André was 9 years old he became unable to keep up with his classmates when playing soccer. The doctor discovered that he had a degenerative condition, namely Becker's muscular dystrophy. This progressive disease has cost him the use of arms and legs. In 1993 his brother Antônio João Estanislau, who is also suffering from progressive muscular dystrophy and who has been a student member of VDMFK for some time, encouraged him to start painting with his mouth. The artist paints landscapes, faces and abstract themes.
